It’s your lucky day, friends and followers. I’m back with an update. My efforts on Vella haven’t attracted much attention beyond that of a friend or two who already know about my work, but it’s only been a couple of days, and the longer it stays up, the more people are likely to trip over it. No worries. And this morning I was able to get a great start on the third installment of the series, so things are progressing well.
But why is it your lucky day? Because I found this blog post, reblogged by the illustrious Laurie Bell, and it bears reading by anyone who has ever struggled to gain traction as a writer. It describes in virtual detail my own writing journey, and the disappointment that I felt, and ultimately shrugged off. Once I realized that I wasn’t going to challenge Stephen King for dominance of the literary world, I was able to accept it, and be happy with what I’ve achieved. As I’ve said elsewhere before, once a writer gets the stars out of his eyes, he’s able to start enjoying what he’s doing. But enough about me.
